MH-60R Sensor Systems Instructor

An experienced professional is sought to deliver comprehensive instruction on MH-60R Sensor Systems and operational procedures. The incumbent will provide training in diverse settings, including aircraft, classrooms, simulators, and practical environments. This role also involves serving as a Subject Matter Expert in curriculum development and contributing to courseware review, publications, safety, quality audits, and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled, instructor-led training for Training Devices and Systems, utilizing modern instructional tools.
  • Evaluate and document student performance, while also assessing training device effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain mission scenarios, ensuring relevance and optimal training outcomes.
  • Review and propose enhancements to the training curriculum, incorporating regulatory changes and operational requirements.
  • Provide classroom instruction and develop supporting materials, including tests, lesson plans, and trainee guides.
  • Deliver instruction on training device operation, ensuring personnel proficiency.
  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of training devices, including modifications and upgrades.
  • Provide academic instruction on Crew Resource Management, Instrument Ground School, and other topics.
  • Contribute to training device inspections, qualifications, and special projects.
  • Maintain training effectiveness by assessing and updating mission scenarios and curriculum.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms and testing instruments to measure training objectives.
  • Recommend updates and maintain currency of all training materials, including those affected by NATOPS changes and new mission requirements.
  • Participate in the validation of training device discrepancies and resolutions.
  • Contribute to airworthiness boards and the resolution of corrective action requests.
  • Explain the operation of training equipment to various groups and individuals.
  • Assist in maintaining the Tactical/Technical Publications Library.
  • Attend required meetings, such as scheduling and standardization meetings.
  • Perform administrative duties related to scheduling, record-keeping, quality assurance, and safety.
  • Maintain proficiency in the operation of MH-60R Aircrew Training Devices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 500 hours of military flying experience, with recent MH-60R Sensor Instructor or Evaluator experience preferred.
  • At least two years of instructional experience within a military rotary wing aircrew training environment.
  • Completion of at least one sea-going tour.
  • Authorization as a competent simulator instructor for all MH-60R curriculum sequences in the TOFT & WTT, by the HQ-FAA Chief Aircrew examiner or delegate.
  • Previous anti-submarine and surface warfare experience.
  • Ability to work overtime and on any shift or day of the week, as required.
  • Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated competency in instructing MH-60R SENSOs in Synthetic Training Devices, as assessed by CO 725 SQN or delegate.
  • Successful completion of periodic instructor and simulator check flight assessments.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to interpret complex documents, respond effectively to inquiries, and generate detailed written and oral presentations.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations and graphical interpretation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to define problems, gather data, and derive logical conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers.

Security Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all company security and data protection policies.
  • Responsibility for the proper handling of all information and materials.
  • Maintenance of confidentiality with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Electronic storage of government and proprietary information on company provided resources.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment, utilizing computer, telephone, and fax.
  • Potential exposure to electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
  • Physical ability to enter a simulator and ensure the safety of all occupants.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and conduct instruction in simulator and classroom settings.

Physical Demands:

  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Ability to navigate stairs and ladders for access to simulator or aircraft cockpit.
  • Ability to move and position oneself around machinery.
  • Must have the ability to detect odors or hear noises to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
