T-44A/C Aviation Instructor

This position involves delivering comprehensive instruction on T-44A/C aircraft systems and operational procedures. The instructor will conduct classroom and simulator-based aviation training, as well as practical environment training. The incumbent will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert, as required, and may provide additional support, such as courseware review and administrative duties encompassing publications, safety, quality audits, scheduling, and other tasks assigned by the Program or Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers pilot procedures instruction within classroom and simulator settings.
  • May contribute to the development and updates of training devices.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in curriculum development for new courses and the review of existing lessons.
  • Provides recommendations to enhance training policies and procedures.
  • Cultivates a positive learning environment, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and tasks.
  • Performs diagnosis and remediation of student performance issues.
  • Participates in project and development work as assigned.
  • Manages administrative tasks, including student record-keeping, monitoring progress, counseling, and ensuring quality, safety, and security.
  • Ensures personal physical ability to enter the simulator and takes cognizance of student safety within the simulator environment.
  • Maintains operational proficiency in Aircrew Training Devices.
  • Demonstrates credibility and the ability to engage the attention of customer attendees through prior aircraft operating experience.
  • Achieves and maintains proficiency in all areas of instruction, demonstrated by passing standardization checks and classroom evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Former military pilot or possess FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine and Instrument-Airplane ratings.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours of flight time with knowledge of DoD rules and regulations governing aircraft operations, along with DoD forms and documents for aircraft instrument flight operations.
  • Graduate of a military instruction course or equivalent that meets Navy’s Instructor Training Course (A-012-0077) standard, as approved by the Government.
  • Working knowledge of all phases of NATRACOM flight training and courseware curricula utilized in the assigned classroom.
  • Working knowledge of the administrator functions associated with the courseware presentation programs outlined in the ICW/EC Training System Utilization Handbook.
  • Ability to induct new students, purge old student records, generate performance reports, and address queries related to student progress.
  • Proven facilitation and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to participate in periodic aircraft familiarization flights.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in emergency procedures.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, and to effectively respond to sensitive inquiries.
  • Capacity to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.
  • Ability to calculate figures, amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to interpret graphs.
  • Competence in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime, as required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Flexibility to work any shift or day of the week, as required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in interpreting complex customer requirements and attitudes through verbal, non-verbal, and written communication.

Security Responsibilities:

The incumbent must adhere to all company security and data protection policies, and be personally responsible for proper handling and marking of information and materials. The position requires maintaining the confidentiality of company information, and access to such information is limited to employees on a need-to-know basis.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This role is performed in office, classroom, and simulator environments, utilizing standard office equipment. The environment may expose the incumbent to risks such as electrical shock and moving mechanical parts. The role may also involve exposure to extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and conduct instruction, climb stairs and ladders, stoop, bend, and crawl. The incumbent must be able to detect odors and hear sounds to identify issues with the simulator.
