KC-30A Simulator Instructor
Overview
This role, based at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD, reports to the KC-30A Lead Instructor and is responsible for providing comprehensive training, administrative and subject matter expertise support for KC-30A pilot training programs. This includes the Pilot Conversion Course (PCC), secondary upgrade courses, and currency training. The role requires collaboration with other resident instructional staff as needed.
Responsibilities
The KC-30A Simulator Instructor plays a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality training, encompassing:
- Training Delivery: Delivering simulator instruction to KC-30A pilot students.
- Material Development: Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of training materials that align with syllabus objectives.
- Mission Support: Conducting mission briefs and debriefs as required.
- Simulator Management: Engaging with simulator maintenance technicians to report identified simulator issues and ensuring the efficient maintenance and evaluation of training and assessment materials.
- Safety Management: Contributing to Aviation Safety Management practices within their training platform, reporting to the Lead Instructor.
- Quality Assurance: Promoting and executing CAE's Quality Management System.
- Safety Culture: Actively demonstrating and integrating safety practices in daily operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 6 years of experience in a Defence aviation training environment.
- Proven experience in leading and supervising a team.
- Experience as a flight simulator instructor is highly regarded.
- A Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment or equivalent recognized experience.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the role and its client, the Australian Department of Defence, successful candidates must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance. Holding a current SECRET (NV1) clearance is highly preferred.
