Job Overview
CAE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mission Simulator Operator / Instructor Surveillance Controller to join its team in Geilenkirchen (near Aachen).
Responsibilities:
- Operate Simulator Training Devices (STDs) and associated systems.
- Contribute expertise to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of STD capabilities, supporting military instructors in achieving this goal.
- Instruct students in checklist procedures and basic system knowledge within the STDs.
- Provide comprehensive simulator scenario training to aircrew members throughout all phases of training.
- Conduct theoretical and practical training, augmenting the Customer Training Organization as required.
- Lead training and scenario development and review.
- Instruct on basic system knowledge, normal and emergency procedures, and student instructor familiarization training.
- Support the planning, guidance, and execution of simulated events, including distributed simulator trainings.
- Provide briefing and debriefing to trainees and manage scheduling activities.
- Maintain and update all technical and operational publications and data provided by the customer.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the training program.
- Provide demonstrations during site visits.
- Collect and track data for training, training events, student performance, and general statistics.
- Provide support to the On-Site Manager as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and professional certification, along with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience in an international environment.
- Recent, thorough working knowledge of Air Defence Operations and AirBattle Management, acquired in an Air Surveillance and Control Unit (e.g., AWACS, JTAC, or Control and Reporting Center (CRC)).
- At least 3 years of experience as a Surveillance Controller on the E-3A.
- At least 1 year of experience as an Instructor Surveillance Controller on the E-3A.
- Excellent organizational skills, including a keen sense of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills across diverse customer groups.
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and service-oriented approach.
- Fluency in English.
- Eligibility for NATO security clearance.
