Instructor Pilot - CAE x SIMCOM
CAE x SIMCOM is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Instructor Pilot to join its training team. This position requires adherence to CAE x SIMCOM standards and policies while delivering exceptional ground school and simulator training for Initial, Recurrent, and specialty training courses. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong focus on customer progress and performance, employing a tailored approach to training which includes meticulous lesson planning, classroom and simulator setup, and maintaining current publications and training materials. Occasional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides standardized training in the classroom and/or simulator, including:
- Captain Upgrades
- Initial/Recurrent Training
- PIC/SIC Evaluations
- Differences Training
- Remedial Training
- Enforces company standards by teaching and requiring adherence to set standards of service and safety.
- Utilizes strong interpersonal, verbal/written, listening, and presentation skills to effectively instruct subjects and provide constructive feedback.
- Possesses the skills to properly judge and evaluate pilot performance accurately and impartially.
- Conducts ground and simulator training for customers at the SIMCOM facility.
- Maintains accurate records, completes proper paperwork, and submits required documents in a timely manner.
- Evaluates customer progress in gaining skills and knowledge according to SIMCOM standards.
- Serves as a liaison between customers and training center managers.
- If authorized as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) for CAE x SIMCOM, conducts Proficiency Checks and Certification Checks as authorized under FAR 135/142.
- Assists in defining customer training requirements through participation in training conferences and meetings.
- Maintains competency and qualifications for authorized instruction.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or state issued equivalent is required; an Associate or college degree is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching or training others is preferred.
- Proven experience demonstrating a customer service orientation in work assignments.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
- Must be able to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Holds an existing instructor qualification or type rating is preferred.
- Holds or has held a professional pilot’s license.
- FAR Part 135 experience and 3,000 hours of total flight time are required.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is preferred.
- Excellent fluency in English, both verbal and written; able to speak, understand, read, and write effectively.
- Must possess excellent listening and presentation skills to meet and exceed customer expectations during the training process.
Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
The role operates in a dual environment setting, including office and simulator spaces. It may require light lifting up to 30lbs and prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
