Position Overview
The Embark Pilot role is designed for individuals seeking to advance their aviation careers within a dynamic and supportive environment. While serving as a flight instructor with a Breeze partner school or university, participants will engage in essential training, development activities, and community events. This program provides a clear progression towards becoming a First Officer with Breeze Airways, ensuring pilots are well-prepared for the demanding 121-operating environment.
Key Responsibilities and Development
- Engage in regular meetings with program staff while instructing at a partner school.
- Pursue ongoing learning and development in alignment with Breeze Flight Operations policies and procedures.
- Champion Breeze Airways' core values: Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence.
- Successfully complete all pre-hire assessments and intermittent training to prepare for initial Breeze training.
- Actively participate in Breeze Embark Program community events, including open houses and training sessions.
- Successfully complete Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP-CTP) through Breeze's designated training partner.
- Provide valuable feedback on the personal development process and contribute to program enhancements.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to assess and mitigate risk effectively during all flight operations.
- Employ Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles, specifically Assertiveness with Respect.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and aircraft systems.
- Commit to continuous technical and professional growth in preparation for transition to Breeze Airways.
- Adhere to the Rules of Conduct outlined in the Company Team Member Playbook and Pilot Playbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.
Minimum Qualifications
- Total Flight Time: 500 hours
- Type Rating: Not required; training will be provided.
- Required Licenses: Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Multi-Engine Rating (ME).
- Licensing Authority: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Medical Certificate: Class 1 Medical.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency: Level 4.
Additional Requirements
- Currently serving as a flight instructor with a Breeze partner school or university. Breeze can assist in connecting candidates with partner schools if necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to transition smoothly into a 121-operating environment.
- Successful completion of the partner school and Breeze assessment and interview process.
- Maintenance of Pilot training history in accordance with the Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996 (PRIA).
- Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operators Permit.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid passport.
- Unrestricted ability to travel to and from the United States.
- Successful completion of a DOT pre-employment drug test.
- Successful completion of a TSA-required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check.
- Authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
