Summary

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an accomplished Airplane Pilot to join its Aircraft Services organization in the Pacific Northwest. This role involves flying multi-engine turbine aircraft, such as the Pilatus PC-24, to support critical power grid missions and ensure the reliability of regional infrastructure.

About the Role

As an Airplane Pilot with BPA Aircraft Services, incumbents will serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC) operating commuter-category turbine aircraft. The primary responsibility is the safe transportation of BPA leadership, engineers, and mission-essential personnel throughout the Pacific Northwest, other regions of the United States, and into Canada. This position requires exercising flight authority, conducting operational risk management, evaluating conditions for flight safety, and leading advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration. Collaboration with aircraft maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability and airworthiness is also a key duty.

Requirements

• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Must abide by Selective Service registration requirements.
• Required to report in person to the official duty location.
• Subject to an initial drug test prior to appointment and random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.
• May be subject to periodic physical examinations if exposed to health hazards.
• Requires a preliminary background check.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating is a selective placement factor.
• Minimum flight hour requirements:
  • 1,500 total flight hours.
  • 100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.
  • 250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • 500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 flight hours in multi-engine airplanes with a maximum gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.
  • 75 flight hours instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual IMC.
  • 75 flight hours Night time.
• Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.
• Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".
• Subject to initial and random drug and alcohol testing.
