Bonneville Power Administration | PC-24 Pilot

Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot to operate multi-engine turbine aircraft, including the Pilatus PC-24, in support of critical power grid missions across the Pacific Northwest. This role offers an opportunity to join an elite aviation team, contributing to regional infrastructure reliability by transporting key agency leaders and technical specialists.

About the Role

The Airplane Pilot will serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC) operating commuter-category turbine aircraft. Responsibilities include safely transporting BPA leadership, engineers, and essential personnel throughout the Pacific Northwest, other U.S. regions, and internationally into Canada. The role involves exercising flight authority and operational risk management, making critical decisions regarding flight continuation, diversion, or termination based on weather, route efficiency, and aircraft systems. Advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration using Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles is essential. The pilot will also collaborate with aircraft maintenance by providing accurate operational write-ups, assisting with ground engine run-ups, and conducting functional check flights.

Requirements

• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Participation in the e-Verify program.
• Males must abide by Selective Service registration requirements.
• Must report in person to the official duty location.
• Subject to an initial drug test prior to appointment and random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.
• May be subject to periodic physical examinations if exposed to health hazards.
• A preliminary background check must be completed before starting work.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.
• Minimum 1,500 total flight hours.
• Minimum 100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.
• Minimum 250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.
• Minimum 500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 flight hours in multi-engine airplanes with a maximum gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.
• Minimum 75 flight hours instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).
• Minimum 75 flight hours Night time.
• Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.
• Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".
• Subject to initial and random drug and alcohol testing.

Supporting documentation for flight hours, ATP certificate, and medical certificate is required.
