Summary
Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot to operate multi-engine turbine aircraft, such as the Pilatus PC-24, in support of critical power grid missions across the Pacific Northwest. This role within BPA Aircraft Services offers an opportunity to contribute to regional infrastructure reliability by transporting agency leaders and technical specialists throughout the United States and Canada.
About the Role
The Airplane Pilot will serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC) operating commuter-category turbine aircraft. Key responsibilities include ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of BPA leadership, engineers, and mission-essential personnel. The pilot will exercise flight authority and operational risk management, evaluating conditions to make critical safety decisions. Advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration using Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles is essential. The role also involves collaborating with aircraft maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability and airworthiness, including providing operational write-ups, assisting with ground engine run-ups, and conducting functional check flights.

Must report in person to the official duty location.

Position requires an initial drug test prior to appointment and random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.

May be subject to periodic physical examinations.

A preliminary background check must be completed before new employees can begin work.
Qualifications

Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.

Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.

Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".

Minimum flight hour requirements:

1,500 total flight hours.
-
100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.

250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.

500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 flight hours in multi-engine airplanes with a max gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.

75 flight hours instrument flight time, with at least 10 hours in actual IMC.

75 flight hours Night time.

Candidates establishing eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official documentation.
