Summary

Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an accomplished Airplane Pilot to operate multi-engine turbine aircraft, such as the Pilatus PC-24, in support of critical power grid missions across the Pacific Northwest. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to regional infrastructure reliability within an elite aviation team, flying key agency personnel and technical specialists.

About the Role

The Airplane Pilot will serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC) for commuter-category turbine aircraft. Responsibilities include safely transporting BPA leadership, engineers, and essential personnel throughout the Pacific Northwest, other US regions, and internationally into Canada. The role demands robust operational risk management, including evaluating weather, route efficiency, and aircraft systems for critical safety decisions. Advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles is essential. The pilot will also collaborate with maintenance teams, providing detailed operational write-ups, assisting with ground operations, and conducting functional check flights.

Requirements

• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Must abide by Selective Service registration requirements (males).
• Must report in person to the official duty location.
• Subject to an initial drug test prior to appointment and random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.
• May be subject to periodic physical examinations.
• Must complete a preliminary background check.

Qualifications

Pilot Certification and Ratings

• Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.
• Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.
• Possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".

Flight Hour Requirements

• 1,500 total flight hours.
• 100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.
• 250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
• 500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 multi-engine airplane hours in aircraft with a maximum gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.
• 75 flight hours instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).
• 75 flight hours Night time.

Documentation

Candidates must provide a copy of their current ATP, medical certificate, and sufficient documentation (e.g., copy of logbook) to verify all stated requirements.
