The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot to operate multi-engine turbine aircraft, including the Pilatus PC-24, to support critical power grid missions across the Pacific Northwest. This role is based within BPA Aircraft Services in the Transmission Services organization.
About the Role
This position involves commanding multi-engine turbine aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC) to transport BPA leadership, engineers, and essential personnel throughout the Pacific Northwest, other US regions, and internationally into Canada. The Airplane Pilot will exercise flight authority, manage operational risks by evaluating weather, route efficiency, and aircraft systems, and make critical safety decisions. A key aspect of the role involves advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration, adhering to Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles, and collaborating with aircraft maintenance to ensure fleet reliability through precise operational write-ups and functional check flights.

Must be registered with the Selective Service System (males).

Must report in person to the official duty location.

The position requires an initial drug test prior to appointment and is subject to random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.

May be subject to periodic physical examinations after employment if exposed to health hazards.

A preliminary background check must be completed before work commencement.
Qualifications

Possession of a FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.

Minimum Flight Hour Requirements:

1,500 total flight hours.
-
100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.

250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.

500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 hours in multi-engine airplanes with a max gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.

75 flight hours instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).

75 flight hours Night time.

Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.

Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".

The pilot must provide a copy of their current ATP, medical certificate, and sufficient documentation (e.g., copy of logbook) to prove meeting all stated requirements.

Candidates establishing eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official documentation.
