About the Role

The Airplane Pilot will serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC) on commuter-category turbine aircraft, transporting BPA leadership, engineers, and essential personnel throughout the Pacific Northwest, other U.S. regions, and into Canada. Responsibilities include exercising flight authority, managing operational risks, evaluating weather and route efficiency, and making critical safety decisions. The role demands advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration using Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles and close collaboration with aircraft maintenance teams for fleet reliability and airworthiness. This position is crucial for maintaining BPA's extensive transmission network, which powers approximately 80% of the electrical transmission capacity across the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

• Participation in the e-Verify program.
• Males must abide by Selective Service registration requirements.
• Must report in person to the official duty location.
• Subject to an initial drug test prior to appointment and random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.
• May be subject to periodic physical examinations.
• A preliminary background check is required before commencing work.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.
• Minimum Flight Hour Requirements:
  • 1,500 total flight hours.
  • 100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.
  • 250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.
  • 500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 multi-engine airplane hours in aircraft with a max gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.
  • 75 flight hours instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual IMC.
  • 75 flight hours Night time.
• Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.
• Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".
• The position is subject to initial and random drug and alcohol testing.
