The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot to operate multi-engine turbine aircraft, such as the Pilatus PC-24, in support of critical power grid missions across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This role is based within BPA Aircraft Services (TAA) in the Transmission Services (T) organization.
About the Role
The Airplane Pilot will serve as a key member of an elite aviation team, responsible for flying multi-engine turbine aircraft. The primary duties include operating commuter-category turbine aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC), transporting agency leadership, engineers, and mission-essential personnel safely throughout the Pacific Northwest, other regions of the United States, and internationally into Canada. The role involves exercising flight authority, conducting operational risk management, evaluating flight conditions, and making critical safety decisions. Additionally, the pilot will collaborate closely with aircraft maintenance teams, providing detailed operational write-ups and participating in functional check flights.

Must be a United States Citizen.

Must be registered with the Selective Service System (males).

Subject to a preliminary background check.

Must pass an initial drug test prior to appointment and be subject to random drug and alcohol testing thereafter.

May be subject to periodic physical examinations.
Qualifications

Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.

Minimum flight hour requirements:

1,500 total flight hours.

100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.

250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.

500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 hours in multi-engine airplanes with a maximum gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.

75 flight hours of instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).

75 flight hours of night time.

Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.

Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".

Candidates establishing eligibility based on military flight experience must provide official documentation.
