Bombardier Flight Operations has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and dedicated Challenger Flight Test Pilot, Captain, to join its esteemed Montreal Flight Operations Challenger Flight Test team.
Role Overview
This pivotal role demands a Captain capable of ensuring the airworthiness of Challenger aircraft through meticulous flight and ground testing, conducting crucial customer-facing flights, and supporting a range of operational requirements within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Conducting comprehensive production ground and flight tests to rigorously validate the airworthiness of Challenger aircraft.
- Performing demonstration flights for prospective customers, showcasing the aircraft's capabilities.
- Executing Customer Acceptance flights with professionalism and precision.
- Carrying out essential Ferry flights as required.
- Managing all pre- and post-flight activities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Potentially providing crucial support for weekend schedules for extended periods.
- Potentially assisting at the Bombardier Flight Test Center as operational needs dictate.
- Potentially conducting thorough reviews of manuals and other critical documentation.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements:
- Holds a valid Canadian Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and a Class 1 medical certificate.
- Possesses a minimum of 3,500 hours of total flight time, including 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on large multi-engine aircraft.
- Demonstrates the legal right to work and reside in Canada.
- Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships.
- Possesses the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively within a team environment.
- Capable of executing the duties of an aircraft commander while maintaining positive and cooperative relationships with both crew and management.
- Proficient in managing high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
- Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Attributes & Assets:
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and to travel on short notice is highly valued.
- Previous flight test experience or a robust technical background in certification or training is considered a definite asset.
- Holding a U.S. Air Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is an asset.
