Key Responsibilities of the Pilot, Captain

The Pilot, Captain in Flight Test Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the airworthiness and performance of Bombardier aircraft. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to stringent safety protocols. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting production ground and flight tests with precision, specifically to validate the airworthiness of new and updated aircraft.
• Performing demonstration flights for prospective customers, showcasing the advanced capabilities and features of Bombardier aircraft.
• Executing Customer Acceptance flights, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with contractual specifications.
• Undertaking essential Ferry flights to various locations as required.
• Managing all pre and post-flight activities, including detailed inspections, documentation, and reporting.
• Providing support for weekend schedules for extended periods, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
• Contributing to the operations of the Bombardier Flight Test Center, as and when required.
• Reviewing manuals and other critical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

To thrive in this challenging yet rewarding role, the ideal candidate will possess a blend of extensive aviation experience, technical expertise, and strong interpersonal skills:

• Must hold a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and a current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• A minimum of 3,500 hours of total flight time, including at least 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on large multi-engine aircraft.
• Demonstrated flexibility to work irregular hours and the ability to travel on short notice.
• Previous flight test experience or a strong technical background in aircraft certification or training is considered a definite asset.
• A valid US Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is also an asset.
• Possession of the legal right to work and live in Canada is a mandatory requirement.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a highly skilled team.
• The capacity to execute the duties of an Aircraft Commander with utmost professionalism, while fostering a positive and cooperative relationship with crew members and management.
• A demonstrated ability to effectively manage and perform under stressful situations.
• Proficiency in the working knowledge of MS Office applications.
