About the Role:
The RPAS Pilot is responsible for the safe planning, execution, and operational maintenance of remotely piloted aircraft systems. Utilizing advanced command, control, and video tools, the pilot will conduct operations for Insitu Pacific's diverse customer base at both domestic and international locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including meticulous analysis of weather forecasts, NOTAMs, SPINs, airspace requirements, crew requirements, system configuration, communication protocols, culminating in a detailed mission brief.
- Coordinate mission specifics with the RPAS crew and Air Traffic Control (ATC), ensuring thorough review of Airspace Control Plans and Mission Logs.
- Execute missions with precision, delivering high-quality full-motion video and payload data.
- Maintain personal qualification currency and proficiency on the system, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct on-site technical training, both formal and informal, to enhance team capabilities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships, while balancing existing capabilities with flight safety, project, and contractual considerations.
Qualifications:
- Possession of either a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
- Successful completion of a CASA Instrument Rating Examination (IREX) or Instrument Rating qualification, or BVLOS exam, for conducting Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.
- Valid Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar RPAS piloting role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of RPAS, encompassing air vehicles, ground segments (including ground control stations, launch and recovery procedures, and mission planning), and ground support equipment.
- Strong understanding and practical application of crew resource management, aeronautical decision-making, risk management, weight and balance calculations, navigation procedures, airspace regulations, meteorology, air vehicle performance data, communication protocols, flight planning, industry regulations, and operator skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to diverse interpersonal styles and cultural norms, fostering positive and productive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Possession of a valid Australian Manual C Class Driver's License.
- Willingness and ability to deploy to remote national and international locations, potentially hazardous, for periods up to one month. Candidates must be comfortable working in austere environments with extreme weather conditions.

Desirable Skills:
- RPAS Pilot and/or Maintenance qualification on Insitu Pacific's RPAS platforms (ScanEagle, ScanEagle 2, Integrator, CT220).
- Aviation Maintenance qualification, such as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer certification or Aeroskills certificate.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
