MQ-28 Operator Instructor - Boeing Defence Australia

Boeing Defence Australia seeks an experienced MQ-28 Operator Instructor for a permanent role at RAAF Base Amberley. This specialised position involves shaping the training ecosystem for an advanced autonomous aircraft, bridging flight operations and digital learning to develop and deliver training across simulated, virtual, and live flight environments.

About the Role

As an MQ-28 Operator Instructor, the candidate will work with cutting-edge aerospace technology, collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing operator courseware, including digital learning and advanced simulation training packages.
  • Preparing, conducting, and debriefing virtual and live flight sorties to ensure mission readiness.
  • Leading assessments to maintain high qualification standards.
  • Providing subject matter expert input during test, development, and Introduction Into Service (IIS) activities.

This position is based at Amberley, with required travel to other sites.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a strong blend of aviation experience, instructional capability, and technical aptitude.

Aviation & Instructional Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) flight experience.
  • B CAT Military experience or a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) equivalent on an advanced contemporary aircraft.
  • Command Instrument Rating (IREX) or equivalent.
  • B CAT QFI Military or Grade 1 Instructor rating.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum CASA Class 2 medical certificate.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
  • Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) is highly desirable.

Technical & Professional Attributes:

  • Experience with instructional authoring tools such as Articulate, or a keen interest in digital learning design.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical training solutions.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
