The Opportunity

The Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Instructor is primarily responsible for reviewing, updating, delivering and evaluating RPAS training, across Pilot and Maintenance Technician courses for staff and customers in Australia and overseas. From time to time the RPAS Instructor will also support the Flight Operations Team on domestic and international assignments.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing training syllabuses, class rosters, students training records and courseware requirements.
  • Determining daily instructional needs / objectives and adjusting content and delivery as necessary.
  • Identifying and scheduling training resources to include facilities, hardware/equipment, and flight time availability.
  • Verifying that all resources and daily training content is compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements and maintenance standards.
  • Conducting classroom, practical, flight and simulation instruction and demonstrating maintenance procedures and practices in both formal and field environments for Pilot and/or Maintenance Technician courses.
  • Obtaining real-time student feedback and adjusting delivery to meet training objectives.
  • Assigning student work, administering informal student assessments, performing remedial instruction and completing daily student records and other required documentation.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and work experience as an Instructor.
  • Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate.
  • Knowledge of RPAS to include air vehicle, ground segments (e.g., ground stations and mission plans) and supportability.
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes, tools, troubleshooting techniques and standards.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilise crew resource management, weight and balance calculations, navigation procedures, airspace, meteorology, air vehicle performance data, communication operations, flight planning, industry regulations, and operator skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and personal alignment with Boeing Values.
  • Possession of a Certificate or Diploma in Aeroskills (Mechanical / Avionics) is desirable.
  • Australia citizenship to meet Australian Defence security requirements.
