We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Naval Nuclear Watchkeeping Instructor with steam raising plant experience to join our Astute-class Training Service team at Babcock Marine Training Limited (BMTL) to help train the current and next generation of Submarine Service engineering professionals.

BMTL is a major contributor to the Royal Navy Submarine Training Enterprise. Training Instructors work closely with the Flag Officer Sea Training Organisation and with currently-serving Royal Navy personnel.

What will you be doing?
As an Instructor you will play a key role providing specialist engineering and nuclear expertise to the training design process and will have the opportunity to support the development of the recently established Babcock Skills business, which provides a wide range of engineering training courses.

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for you to be able to demonstrate previous or recent experience operating Naval Nuclear propulsion systems, preferably on Astute-class submarines but all transferable PWR experience will be considered from S, T or V boats.

The experience you’ll bring
Qualification as a Category A, B or C Watchkeeper in the Royal Navy Submarine Service
Comprehensive knowledge and recent experience of operating Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant
Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively
Engaging and effective communicator
Defence Train the Trainer qualification is a bonus but not essential
You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
