Norwich Captain - Babcock Mission Critical Services Onshore
Babcock International, a leading provider of defense, aerospace, and security solutions, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Captain to join its Mission Critical Services Onshore (BMCSO) team in Norwich, Norfolk. BMCSO specializes in providing critical helicopter services to the air ambulance, police, and offshore sectors, playing a vital role in saving lives and protecting communities.
The Role:
As a Norwich Captain, you will contribute to BMCSO's commitment to excellence by operating EC145 D3 helicopters in a variety of challenging and demanding roles, including HEMS and NVIS operations. The successful candidate will possess exceptional professional expertise, a strong commitment to safety, and a proven ability to maintain the highest standards in the execution of these critical missions.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum 1000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC):
- 500 hours PIC on twin turbine helicopters OR
- 1000 hours as co-pilot in HEMS operations (including 500 hours PIC under supervision) and 100 hours PIC on twin turbine helicopters.
- Minimum 2000 hours total helicopter experience.
- 500 hours operational experience: operating twin turbine helicopters in an environment similar to the intended operations.
- 20 hours VMC at night: as Pilot in Command.
Qualifications:
- UK ATPL(H): A valid UK Airline Transport Pilot License (Helicopter) is required.
- EC145 Qualified and Instrument Rated: Demonstrated proficiency and qualification on the EC145 helicopter.
- Current or Recent HEMS Experience: Experience in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services operations is essential.
- Night Vision Goggles (NVG) Experience: Experience flying with Night Vision Goggles is a key requirement.
- Fluent English: Strong English language proficiency is mandatory.
- Valid Driving License, Passport, and Right to Work in the UK: Essential documentation for employment.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
