Operational Responsibilities & Environment
The successful Captain will be responsible for operating the Embraer 190 aircraft, primarily serving London City Airport. This unique and challenging operating environment, catering to a sophisticated customer base, necessitates the highest professional standards from its flight crew. Captains are expected to integrate flexibly within a close-knit team to support a dynamic seven-day-a-week operation. The varied roster includes business, charter, and leisure flights, encompassing day trips, night stops, and tours.

Candidate Requirements
BA Cityflyer seeks highly skilled and dedicated aviation professionals. Applicants must meet the following stringent requirements:
Minimum Essential Criteria for Captains
- Hold a current UK CAA Part-FCL ATPL (A) or possess the ability to convert to a UK licence via the CAA EASA transfer process route 5 or 6.
- Possess a current type rating with a minimum of 4000 total flying hours. This must include 1500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a multi-crew commercial jet/turboprop aircraft. The 1500 PIC hours must be accrued on an aircraft with an MTOW of 20,000kg or greater and explicitly exclude PICUS hours.
- Demonstrate ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6.
- Hold a valid Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
- Possess a valid UK CAA Class 1 Medical Certificate, valid for at least 6 months after the anticipated joining date.
Desirable Attributes
- An E-Jet type rating is highly desirable but not essential.
- Current operational experience as a Captain is highly desirable.

Applicants are required to attach copies of their Licence, Class 1 Medical Certificate, and the last three pages of their logbook to the supporting files section before submitting their application. Reapplication Policy
Candidates unsuccessful at the initial screening, video interview, capacity testing, or assessment centre stages may reapply for the pilot recruitment campaign after a 6-month period from their most recent assessment date, reflecting an updated assessment process. Candidates who were not successful at the simulator (SIM) stage must observe a 12-month reapplication waiting period.
Applicants are permitted to apply to only one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) at any given time. Should an applicant be unsuccessful in one campaign, reapplying to any of the three airlines within the British Airways family will not be possible until the specified reapplication period has fully elapsed.
