SUMMARY

Directs safe operation of flight crews by performing the following duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • Will assist the Chief Pilot in formulating policies and procedures governing flight crews.
  • Will maintain flight crew qualifications and conduct required training and flight crew checks.
  • Management of specific tasks or projects required to achieve departmental goals.
  • Will monitor and develop equipment-operating procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned and may be governed as described in the company GOM.
  • Ensure required aircraft supplies and forms are available on each aircraft, hub, and/or outstation.
  • Interface with Quality Control to ensure all Aircraft Log Pages are complete. Contact aircraft Captains to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Requested correspondences completed efficiently and filed so that they are very easy to locate when needed.
  • Ensure all new hire and upgrade pilots are provided with uniform items and safety vests.
  • Expeditious and accurate completion of requested projects with little or no supervision.
  • Assists with maintaining flight crew training records up-to-date and ready for FAA spot inspection.
  • Deals professionally with employees, vendors and customers. Respects the confidential nature of the information she/he is sometimes involved with.
  • Ensures that all Company policies and procedures (including Governmental and safety), and departmental Standard Operating Procedures are enforced and adhered to by all personnel. Receives a rating of “Good” or better on each semi-annual performance evaluation.
  • Ensures that performance evaluations on all personnel are completed and returned to Human Resources in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all data collection is accurate and submitted on a timely basis. Also ensures that all reports are accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
  • Ensures proper training of all personnel according to the program of each position in the department.
  • Maintains proper communication channels with personnel within the department by consistently holding meetings and participating in other meetings as required by superiors. Is well prepared for all meetings by documenting agendas, minutes, and follows up to ensure results.
  • Provide monitoring of the daily operations schedule and track/document delay reports to support mitigating future occurrences.
  • Liaise with the Director of Training to facilitate means and methods of improving the overall performance of the pilot group.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:

  • Must meet at least the minimum required by the Federal Aviation Regulations to serve as a flight crewmember.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must meet at least the minimum certificates required by Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, Adobe Acrobat, and Apple IOS.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Hold appropriate aircraft Type Rating for fleet type assigned.

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:

  • Must has strong written and verbal skills.
