Minimum Qualifications and Experience for Professional Aviation Pilot

Required Certification, Experience, and Regulatory Compliance

The successful applicant must demonstrate robust flight experience and adherence to stringent regulatory requirements necessary for operations under 14 CFR Part 135.

  • The candidate is highly preferred to possess a current and valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Applicant must hold and maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum of 2,000 hours of total documented flight time is mandatory. Prior experience in 14 CFR Part 135 commercial operations is highly preferred and advantageous.
  • The pilot must satisfy all flight hour and experience requirements stipulated in 14 CFR Part 135.243(a)(1) and (c) for Pilot in Command duties.
  • The applicant must possess, or rapidly acquire, comprehensive and expert knowledge of 14 CFR (Federal Aviation Regulations) and all associated FAA operational standards.
  • Candidate must be eligible for entry into Canada and able to maintain active status via the CANPASS program for international operations.

Essential Eligibility Requirements and Operational Standards

To ensure operational efficiency and security compliance, the following additional qualifications are non-negotiable:

  • The successful candidate must establish and maintain residency within a 45-minute commuting distance of the designated base airport.
  • The applicant must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete a thorough and mandated background check.
  • Strict adherence to the company's federal zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy is required.
