Role Summary

The CSA 1-year Special Project- Training Delivery Instructor is a special project is responsible for delivering effective training events for Alaska Airlines (AS) and Horizon Air (QX). As a member of the Training Delivery team, this individual contributor role prepares lesson plans and builds and maintains relationships with training partners in the operation to provide support and mentorship.

Key Duties

+ Instruct and deliver approved initial training, technical, and skills classes using Adult Learning principles in both live and virtual environments.

+ Apply appropriate training modalities within the blended learning curriculum to create a successful and dynamic learning environment. Seamlessly integrate and troubleshoot technology and classroom visual/audio equipment while effectively managing class time.

+ Provide recommendations on the design and delivery of training programs, including manuals, facilitator guides, and other learning tools.

+ Mentor and provide guidance for trainers, leaders and users across the system with training and LMS questions.

+ Review, internalize, and prepare lesson plans ahead of class.

+ Maintain currency and expertise in the areas you are instructing.

Additional Details

+ COPS Contract Article 10.R applies.

+ Per Article 10.R it will not go beyond 12 months.

+ Pays per union agreement.

+ This Special Project assignment is planned for one year but could vary based upon the needs for transition. At the end of this assignment, the successful candidate must return to their former position defined by the COPS contract.

+ Upon return to their former position, they will be ineligible to accept any other Special Project assignment work for a minimum of six months – per the COPS Contract.

+ Article 11, paragraph A.2 applies.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

+ A minimum of 6 months of operational experience in the relevant front-line role and have completed probation.

+ Must be an active employee in good standing.

+ Formal training experience presenting and facilitating in a group setting.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of AS policies, procedures, and service framework.

+ Excellent digital literacy and confidence navigating new digital environments.

+ Strong technical competency with Microsoft Teams and Office programs.

+ Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills.

+ Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

+ Flexible mindset and proven adaptability in problem-solving situations.

+ Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Minimum age of 18.

+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

+ Bachelor’s degree with a focus in education or an additional two years of relevant training experience in lieu of this degree.

+ Understanding of adult learning styles and virtual training principles.

+ 1 year or more of recent front-line experience in relevant roles.

+ Certifications in multiple additional skills and responsibilities.

+ Certified trainer experience.

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air pay and benefits can vary by company, location, number of regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.
