Airbus TRI/TRE - Flight Training Instructor/Examiner
Airbus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced TRI/TRE to join the Airbus Europe Training Centre (AETC) in Blagnac, Toulouse, France. This individual will be integral to the Training Department, conducting flight and simulator training for a diverse international clientele. The role requires representing Airbus professionally to operators and regulatory authorities. This position is not suitable for candidates seeking commuting options.

Prerequisites:
- Possession of a valid EASA ATPL License.
- Possession of a valid EASA TRI rating on A320 and A330/A350 aircraft (LIFUS).
- Possession of a valid EASA Medical Class 1 certificate.
- Minimum English Language Proficiency Rating of 4, demonstrating fluency.
- Low Visibility Operations qualification, including a minimum of one Autoland as Captain on Airbus Fly-By-Wire (FBW) aircraft.
- Possession or prior possession of an ETOPS qualification.
- Minimum of 5,000 hours total pilot flight time.
- Minimum of 2,000 hours flight time on large jet aircraft.
- Minimum of 2,500 hours flight time as Captain on Airbus aircraft.
- Minimum of 500 hours of flight instructor experience in Full Flight Simulators (FFS) on large aircraft.
- Minimum of 500 hours of experience as Captain conducting LIFUS/IOE training.
- Substantial instructor experience focused on initial type ratings.
- Current qualification and experience as both Captain and TRI on A320 and A330/A350 aircraft.
- TRE experience is highly desirable.
- Significant experience in commercial airline operations is required.
- Expertise in evidence-based training and competency-based training assessment is essential.
- Project management acumen is required.
- Managerial experience is a plus.
- Experience in Flight Safety is advantageous.
Accountabilities:
The TRI/TRE will report directly to the Head of TRI/TRE within the Flight Crew Training organization at Airbus Training Center Europe (ATC EU), and be part of the execution department.
Base:
The contract is based in Blagnac (near Toulouse). Commuting is not an option. The initial commitment is for three consecutive years within the execution department, with potential mobility opportunities within Airbus after this period.
Main Activities:
- Serving as an Airbus TRI/TRE.
- Conducting line training and line checks for Airbus.
- Performing simulator training and simulator checks, primarily in Toulouse.
- Providing support to the Training & Flight Operations Support (TFOS) community.
- Assisting with office duties as needed.
The core responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality training and checks, aligned with qualifications, ensuring the safe and efficient entry into service and operation of Airbus aircraft.
- Conducting In-Flight training (Initial Operating Experience) and simulator sessions.
- Participating in various TFOS projects as requested.
- Representing Airbus ATO and the manufacturer to customers.
- Supporting customers, particularly during flight periods, to guarantee safe entry into service.
- Proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Acting as Team Leader during Initial Operating Experience.
- Coordinating with Airbus and airline teams.
- Ensuring standardization, and contributing to development and management tasks throughout their Airbus career.
- Maintaining and advancing personal competencies in line with qualifications.
The role involves a three-month work cycle:
- One month of line training abroad (typically 30 consecutive days).
- Two months of simulator training, with occasional ferry flights.
Specificities:
Upon hiring, the TRI/TRE will be required to convert their license to the French State (DGAC), supported by the standardization department. The probationary period will be a minimum of three months with possible renewal.
