This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to serve as a Second in Command (SIC) for a leading aviation organization. The SIC will play a vital role in the safe and efficient execution of flight operations, adhering strictly to all FAR Part 135 regulations and internal operational procedures. Reporting to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC), the SIC will provide critical support, exercising operational control at the Tier 2 level as defined in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual.
This position operates on a rotating schedule of eight days on duty, followed by six days off. Pilots work 12-hour shifts (or up to the Part 135 maximum during missions), commencing from home base and adhering to specified call-out times to ensure timely flight departures. Shift assignments (day or night) are scheduled monthly by the Base Lead Pilot, allowing ample time for rest cycle planning. Pilots typically maintain the same duty period throughout their seven-day on-duty cycle, with rotations occurring at the start of subsequent seven-day periods. While changes within a seven-day cycle are discouraged, they may be necessary to meet operational demands.
