Position Overview
The First Officer Pilot is entrusted with providing an elevated air transportation experience, maintaining an exemplary safety record on every flight. As the ambassador of NetJets, the pilot delivers not only technically precise and secure flights but also an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This role demands versatility, encompassing the responsibilities of a professional aviator and an in-flight service provider, all aimed at delivering a concierge-level experience. The First Officer Pilot holds ultimate command of the aircraft and must consistently uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, takeoff, and landing in strict adherence to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Engages with Owners/passengers pre-flight, introduces themselves, briefs them on flight specifics, verifies itineraries, provides weather updates, and communicates any itinerary adjustments.
- Delivers in-flight services as required, including the serving of alcoholic beverages and catering.
- Manages the loading and secure stowing of all baggage onboard the aircraft.
- Capably handles and conducts flights for Owners who travel with pets and those who smoke.
- Acts as the ultimate authority on their assigned aircraft, overseeing all operational aspects and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory mandates.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for Owners/passengers, bridging communication between the client and NetJets from arrival at the FBO until safe disembarkation at the final destination.
- Promptly communicates any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company via the designated Aircraft Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller.
- Accurately completes all necessary paperwork pertaining to maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- Current First Class Medical Certificate
- Flight Time Requirements (IAW 61.160):
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- 1,500 hours of total flight time; or
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate; or
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; or
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flight time, or 75 hours with a minimum of 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- FAA ATP written exam completed prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine flight time.
- Additional Requirements:
- Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Valid passport with unrestricted international travel capabilities.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional flexibility and the capacity to adapt to rapid changes.
- Capability to manage personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times.
- Willingness to undertake duty periods up to fourteen hours per day, for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning multiple time zones and experiencing diverse weather conditions.
- Ability to remain away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights, residing in hotels.
- Eligibility for appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Successful completion of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Valid State driver's license.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, including the ability to read and understand the language.
- Strong service orientation with a neat, professional appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression and interact effectively with passengers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make swift and accurate decisions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, encompassing both technical and passenger service aspects.
- Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Comfort and capability to work around animals, including their handling and care during Owner flights.
- Willingness and ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $86,015 - $117,706 annually.
