This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) within a dynamic Part 135 operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of all assigned flights, exercising operational control at Tier 2 level as defined in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual. The PIC acts as the final authority on all aircraft operations, and supervises all other crew members during flight. This role demands a high level of professionalism, adherence to FAR Part 135 regulations, and unwavering commitment to safety.
Pilots will follow a rotating schedule of seven days on duty followed by seven days off. During duty periods, a 12-hour shift (or up to the maximum permitted under Part 135 when on mission) will be required, commencing from home base. Adherence to the specified call-out time is crucial to meet scheduled launch times. Shifts are designated as either day or night and are pre-scheduled monthly by the Base Lead Pilot to allow for adequate rest cycle planning. Pilots typically maintain the same duty period throughout their seven-day on-duty cycle, rotating to the alternative duty period during the subsequent seven-day assignment. While changes within a seven-day cycle are discouraged, they may be necessary to meet operational needs.
This is a demanding yet rewarding role for experienced and highly skilled aviation professionals. Candidates should possess exceptional judgment, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to safety.
