AirMed Beechjet 400 Captain - Pilot in Command (PIC)
AirMed is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Beechjet BE-400 Captain - Pilot in Command (PIC) to join its team in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time, regular position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
The Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe conduct of all assigned flights in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 135 and AirMed International's General Operating Manual. This role includes:
- Ensuring the aircraft is prepared for mission in coordination with AirMed's global operations center.
- Adhering to all domestic and international regulations, including FARs, ICAO annexes, and individual AIPs.
- Communicating all pertinent flight operational information through the operational control structure.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor and sensitivity to the surrounding environment at all times.
- Attending required meetings and participating in training and check-flights outside of normal duty shift rotations.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Chief Pilot.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3,000 hours of Airplane Total Time
- Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, San Antonio, TX
- Must hold, or be able to attain, BE-400 PIC Type Rating
- 500 hours of Airplane Multi-Engine Land experience
- 1,500 hours of PIC Airplane experience
- Valid US Passport
- Unrestricted FAA ATP certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate and First-Class Privilege required
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $134,249 - $153,428 (based on experience, with top pay scale reaching $187,949 based on annual merit increases)
- $15,000 Sign-on Bonus: (payable upon successful completion of training and checkride)
- $40,000 Retention Bonus: (payable after a 6-month waiting period and as part of a 3-year program)
- 7/7 Schedule: (launch and recovery from home base each trip)
- $3,000 Relocation Assistance
Work Schedule:
Pilots work a rotating 7 days on/7 days off schedule. While on duty, pilots serve a 12-hour shift (or up to the maximum allowed under Part 135 if on mission) from home and must be able to meet the program's specified call-out time for scheduled launches. Shift assignments are either day or night duty, scheduled the month prior by the Base Lead Pilot to allow adequate rest preparation. Pilots can expect to maintain the same duty period throughout their assigned 7-day shift, rotating to the next duty period during their subsequent 7-day shift assignment. Changes to duty periods within a 7-day shift are discouraged but may occur based on local needs.

- Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, and crouch unassisted for extended periods
- Ability to lift 70 pounds
