The Aviation Pilot is responsible for operating aircraft in a safe and legal manner. He completes pre-flight inspections before every flight, verifying the aircraft's airworthy condition through sign-off of the Daily Flight Log. He performs a complete walk-around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.
Minimum qualifications include 2500 hours total flight time with a minimum of 2000 flight hours in category, 1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in category, 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time, and 500 hours of cross-country flight time, with at least 50 hours of cross-country flight time at night.
