Job Overview

Air Methods is seeking a professional and safety-focused Fixed Wing Pilot to join the Airlift Northwest team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and legal operation of PC12 (IFR) aircraft, ensuring the reliable transport of medical crews and patients. This role requires adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and company-specific operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in accordance with safety and legal standards.
  • Perform thorough pre-flight inspections, including complete aircraft walk-arounds and maintenance of the Daily Flight Log.
  • Maintain final authority regarding aircraft operation and the safety of all passengers, cargo, and equipment.
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice to meet exacting standards.
  • Ensure medical flight teams are familiar with aircraft interiors and medical systems.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach.
  • Maintain a regular 7/7 schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Must maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be under 70 years of age.
  • Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
  • Possess a current Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft) or ATP rating.
  • Multi-engine rating required for twin-engine aircraft; Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft.
  • Hold a valid First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.

IFR Program Requirements

  • 2,500 total flight hours (2,000 in category).
  • 1,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in category.
  • 500 hours cross-country, 500 hours turbine, 100 hours night flight, and 100 hours actual instrument conditions in category.

ALNW Specific Requirements

  • 2,500 total flight hours (2,500 in category).
  • 150 hours night flight.
  • 300 hours actual instrument conditions in category.
  • 50 hours in make and model.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $82,900 – $93,251 per annum (based on flight and EMS experience).

Stipends and Bonuses: Includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus, an experience stipend of up to $12,000, and a $50,000 stipend. Off-duty housing is also provided.
