The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the world's largest airline pilot union and largest non-governmental aviation safety organization, representing over 79,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines, seeks an experienced Training & Human Performance Coordinator for its Tysons (McLean), Virginia office.
As an integral member of the Engineering & Air Safety (E&AS) department, the Training & Human Performance Coordinator serves as the staff focal point for the Training and Human Performance policy areas. This role provides expertise and support, coordinating activities related to human performance, training, human factors, and other assigned duties. The Coordinator also serves as a liaison between the Association and various government, industry, trade, and professional organizations involved in these disciplines. Key functions include activities associated with the development and harmonization of regulatory standards worldwide. The Coordinator works closely with the ALPA Air Safety Organization (ASO) and its associated groups, as well as other technical groups and Master Executive Councils (MECs) within the ALPA structure.
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. ALPA is a member-driven, staff supported, union with two internal professional unions.
The position requires the ability to operate a computer/smartphone/tablet constantly; maintain a stationary position; move about the office and local metropolitan area; determine what others have said or written; converse with others and exchange accurate information; sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about for travel (locally, nationally, and internationally). Occasionally may lift items up to 10 lbs. and luggage up to 50 lbs. while traveling.
Up to 20% is required; sporadically, travel, local and national, could be as much as 25% of the time.
ALPA offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits, including:
$96,027.00 – $137,179.00
