Aviation Training Specialist

Job Purpose

The Aviation Training Specialist supports the line manager in ensuring the Core Flying Phase of the Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) program adheres to the regulatory, safety, and training standards set by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and T3 Aviation Academy. This role also involves assisting in the supervision and monitoring of flight training activities conducted at contracted service providers across all approved locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the supervision and monitoring of all Flight Instructors (FIs), ensuring strict adherence to all regulations and procedures during training.
  • Implements an annual standardization program for FIs to maintain consistent flight instruction standards.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of a training plan for new FIs, assessing their suitability to train academy students.
  • Maintains a robust assessment process to uphold the quality of instruction.
  • Supervises trainee performance and coordinates remedial training when necessary, as approved by the line manager.
  • Stays abreast of developments, trends, changes, and advancements in aviation regulations and procedures.
  • Recommends necessary changes and improvements to the flight training syllabi.
  • Maintains trainee flight instruction records and initiates corrective actions as needed or as instructed by the line manager.
  • Assists in maintaining an optimal number of FIs based on course schedules and trainee enrollment, coordinating with contracted training provider management.
  • Maintains accurate records of FI qualifications and training as per T3 Aviation Academy OM-D and uploads required documentation into the flight training management software.
  • Documents staff and trainee recency, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Maintains current records of all FIs’ flight and duty times, ensuring adherence to limitations.
  • Supervises compliance with flight and duty time limitations for both FIs and trainees, ensuring violations are reported and investigated.
  • Reports any non-compliance by the contracted training provider with regulations or the academy's operational and training manuals to the line manager.
  • Identifies and reports all safety-related incidents to the appropriate manager, regardless of severity.
  • Executes any additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR), 1000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC), and 500 hours single-engine experience. A bachelor’s degree in aviation management or a related field is preferred in addition to a high school diploma.
  • Minimum 200 hours Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) experience and 500 hours as a Flight Instructor.
  • Possession of a valid Class One medical certificate issued by the state of license and successful completion of an MPL instructor training course at a GCAA-approved Aviation Training Organization (ATO).

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role involving comparable tasks, with at least 2 years of experience as a Flight Instructor.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, procedures, and best practices in flight training.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Urdu or other languages is an advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GCAA rules and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and conversant with FlightLogger Flight Management System (FMS).
