Job Purpose
The Cabin Crew Member serves as a professional ambassador for the airline, dedicated to fostering customer loyalty and upholding a positive corporate image by consistently enhancing the passenger experience. This critical role ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of all passengers throughout every phase of the flight cycle, maintaining operational readiness and productivity in strict adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Result Responsibilities
Operational Readiness and Conduct
- Ensures punctual attendance, impeccable grooming, and maintained physical fitness and regulatory legality for all assigned flights.
- Actively participates in pre-flight briefings to assimilate crucial flight details, understand role assignments, review security protocols, and confirm operational targets.
Safety, Security, and Emergency Procedures (SEP)
- Executes all mandatory safety and emergency procedures (SEPs), including providing detailed safety instructions to passengers.
- Proactively identifies and mitigates potential safety and security risks in collaboration with the Cabin Supervisor, initiating remedial action according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Responsible for administering essential first aid services to passengers when required.
- Promptly reports all irregularities, malfunctions, or discrepancies to the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain.
Customer Experience and Revenue Generation
- Extends a warm welcome to passengers and efficiently manages boarding formalities, meticulously recording required data in the aircraft logbook in compliance with aviation authority (GCAA/CAA) and company regulations.
- Delivers consistently superior customer service, proactively addressing individual pre-bookings, requests, and passenger needs.
- Provides compassionate assistance to passengers experiencing stress or difficulty, adhering strictly to the Operations Manual.
- Maximizes ancillary revenue generation and supports the “Charity Cloud” program through the effective promotion and sale of on-board products, meals, and services, achieving defined individual and team sales targets.
- Ensures the accurate and secure processing of all cash and credit card transactions associated with sales and donations.
In-Flight Checks and Reporting
- Performs rigorous pre-flight inspections to confirm the availability and serviceability of all emergency equipment, catering supplies, and general cabin provisions, reporting any deficiencies to the Cabin Supervisor or Captain.
- Coordinates with ground staff during transit to ensure the aircraft cabin is thoroughly cleaned, re-catered, and duty-free products are replenished.
- Executes seamless handover and takeover procedures with catering, cleaning, and maintenance personnel.
- Completes all required post-flight briefings and assessment reports, reporting flight discrepancies, and securing duty-free containers.
- Acts in the capacity of Cabin Supervisor when formally designated by the Captain.
- Maintains professional competency and licensing currency through regular attendance at recurrent training, educational workshops, and emergency procedure training.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
Important Physical and Regulatory Requirements
- Age: Between 18 to 29 years for candidates without previous cabin crew experience; up to 33 years for Experienced Cabin Crew.
- Height/Reach: Minimum 160 cm (Female) / 168 cm (Male); must be able to reach 212 cm on tiptoes.
- Weight: Must be proportional to age and height.
- Appearance: Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the standard cabin crew uniform.
- Fitness: Medically and physically fit to perform all required Cabin Crew duties.
- Swimming Ability: Must possess the ability to swim with the aid of a flotation device.
Academic Qualifications and Languages
- Education: A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is acceptable; a Diploma in Travel/Tourism is considered advantageous.
- Health: Must be fit to fly, possessing good general health, free from serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
- Languages: Fluency (written and spoken) in English is mandatory. Fluency in Arabic is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Work Experience
- Applications from recent graduates are strongly encouraged.
- Previous experience as Cabin Crew or in a customer service role within the Airlines, Aviation, or Hospitality industries is considered an added value.
- Possession of an active Cabin Crew license is advantageous.
- Must be highly capable of working complex shift patterns and extended working hours.
- Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability in response to frequent schedule changes and busy operational requirements.
- Proven ability to deliver successfully against company policies, operational procedures, and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
