Cabin Crew Job Description
About the Role:
The Cabin Crew member serves as a primary ambassador for Air Arabia, dedicated to cultivating customer loyalty and fostering a positive corporate image at all times. This is achieved by enhancing the overall passenger experience. The role requires providing excellent customer service while simultaneously ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout the entire flight cycle. The successful candidate must maintain readiness and fitness to operate efficiently, adhering strictly to company policies, procedures, and established productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
The Cabin Crew member is entrusted with a range of crucial duties, including:
- Conduct and Readiness: Ensuring timely attendance, impeccable grooming, personal fitness, and legality for all assigned flights. Participating actively in pre-flight briefings to remain fully informed of flight details, allocated roles, targets, security protocols, and boarding procedures.
- Safety Measures: Instructing passengers clearly on all necessary safety procedures to guarantee their security and comfort throughout the journey. Identifying potential safety and security risks and collaborating with the Cabin Supervisor to implement corrective actions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Administering first aid to passengers when required. Promptly reporting any irregularities or equipment malfunctions to the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, or Captain as appropriate.
- Customer Service Excellence: Warmly welcoming passengers and assisting with boarding processes. Providing consistently excellent customer service by attending to individual passenger needs, including pre-bookings and special requests. Identifying and offering assistance to passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, following established policies and procedures detailed in the Operations Manual. Actively promoting on-board meals, products, and the "Charity Cloud" program to maximize on-board revenue and achieve individual and team sales targets. Ensuring the secure and accurate handling of all cash and credit card payments processed.
- Operational Checks and Reporting: Conducting thorough pre-flight checks to verify sufficient supplies, emergency equipment, catering provisions, and other specified items before departure. Reporting any deficiencies promptly to the Cabin Supervisor and/or Captain. Assisting in supervising the cleaning of the aircraft cabin during transit and ensuring adequate re-catering and duty-free supplies are provided before subsequent flights. Overseeing the orderly handover or takeover of the cabin from or to catering, cleaning, or maintenance staff. Completing post-flight briefing and assessment reports as per adopted policies; providing objective evaluations, reporting flight issues or discrepancies, and ensuring the proper sealing of duty-free containers. Accounting to the Cabin Supervisor for passenger conduct and being prepared to carry out Cabin Supervisor duties when designated by the Captain. Maintaining current professional and safety knowledge and licensure through recurrent training, emergency procedures courses, and educational workshops. Contributing to team objectives by successfully delivering against allocated sales targets and contributing to overall results.
Candidate Profile & Requirements:
Prospective candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Age: Between 20 and 33 years.
- Minimum Height: 160 cm for female candidates, 170 cm for male candidates.
- Weight: To be in proportion to age and height.
- Appearance: Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the cabin crew uniform.
- Fitness: Medically and physically fit to perform demanding cabin crew duties.
- Swimming Ability: Capable of swimming with the aid of a flotation device.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is required. A diploma in Travel or Tourism is considered advantageous.
- Training: Training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is an added value.
- Health: Must be fit to fly, possess good general health, and have no serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
- Language: Must demonstrate fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in a cabin crew role or a customer service position within the aviation, airline, or hospitality industries is highly valued. Possession of an active cabin crew license is an advantage.
- Availability: Capable of working variable shift patterns and extended hours as required.
- Attributes: Must exhibit high levels of flexibility and adaptability to accommodate frequent schedule changes. Demonstrates the ability to contribute effectively and achieve success against established policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
