The Opportunity
Based in San Jose, California, the International Captain will serve as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of Adobe Inc. aircraft, executing critical domestic and international missions. Reporting directly to the Chief Pilot, this pivotal role carries direct responsibility for the safety and comfort of all passengers and crew, ensuring rigorous compliance with company policies and global aviation regulations, and facilitating the timely operation of all assigned flights.
Key Responsibilities
The International Captain will demonstrate exceptional leadership, sound judgment, ethical conduct, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Primary responsibilities include:
- Operating assigned aircraft in strict compliance with all applicable FAA Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Adobe Flight Operations Manual (FOM), and all pertinent state, local, federal, and international aviation regulations, while adhering meticulously to manufacturer’s specifications and limitations.
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and applying FOM risk mitigation strategies in close collaboration with the entire flight crew, including the Second-in-Command (SIC), any additional pilots, and the Flight Attendant.
- Delivering thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight briefings to all crew members, ensuring effective communication, discussion, and assimilation of all critical flight information.
- Coordinating with the Flight Attendant to ensure the safety and proper handling of all provisions brought aboard the aircraft, including food, beverages, ice, and potable water.
- Acting as the primary liaison for critical operational departments, including Dispatch, Maintenance, and Executive Protection.
- Serving as the local point of contact for traveling executive passengers, ensuring a seamless, secure, and comfortable experience.
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this challenging role, candidates must possess the following:
- A valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with relevant large cabin Turbojet Type rating(s).
- The ability to maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate, demonstrating excellent physical health.
- A minimum of five (5) years of extensive global experience as Pilot-in-Command of large cabin aircraft within corporate or commercial aviation environments.
- Significant flight experience, including a total flight time of at least four thousand (4,000) hours, with a minimum of two thousand (2,000) hours in multi-engine turbojet aircraft, encompassing substantial international flight operations.
- Profound familiarity with FAA FAR Part 91 and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations.
- A strong knowledge, understanding, and open endorsement of Safety Management System (SMS) philosophies.
- Proficiency in aircraft scheduling, including the use of modern mobile technology applications.
- Exceptional interpersonal, mentorship, and leadership capabilities.
- Superior time management, project coordination, and team management skills.
