First Officer
Role Objective
The First Officer serves as the second-in-command, providing crucial support to the Captain. This role involves executing assigned duties with precision, adhering to all instructions, and sharing responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. The First Officer is instrumental in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of the crew, passengers, cargo, and equipment. This position demands integrity, leadership, and professionalism, upholding the highest operational standards. The First Officer must be capable of making ethical and decisive decisions in both normal and contingency operations, always acting under the Captain’s ultimate authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists the Captain in maintaining ultimate responsibility and accountability for the safe operation of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo. Ensures compliance with UAE GCAA and international aviation regulations, airline policies and procedures, and industry best practices.
- Performs delegated flight duties in strict accordance with airline policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards. Fosters professionalism and collaboration among the crew through effective leadership and Crew Resource Management (CRM), upholding the organization's commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Executes all duties with exceptional precision and professionalism, meticulously adhering to Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies to ensure compliance and operational integrity. Proposes alternative actions when necessary, guided by sound CRM principles.
- Monitors aircraft systems, performance, and navigation, promptly addressing any irregularities and ensuring strict adherence to the flight plan. Identifies, documents, and reports safety incidents, SOP breaches, or operational irregularities. Proactively highlights opportunities to enhance safety and efficiency, ensuring all reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted through appropriate channels in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Conducts comprehensive pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to verify the serviceability of emergency systems and flight deck equipment. Shares responsibility for the aircraft, passengers, crew, and overall operations from boarding until shutdown, overseeing activities such as fueling and loading. Alerts the Captain immediately to any observed irregularities.
- Supports the Captain with crew-related responsibilities from the time of reporting for duty at the Base of Operations in Dubai. Acts in a supporting role at outstations and during layovers, contributing to the safe and efficient management of all aspects of return sector(s) until release following post-flight duties upon return to Dubai.
- Assists the Captain, who as the aircraft Commander holds full accountability and responsibility for all operational decisions and the overall conduct of the flight, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Represents the airline as a brand ambassador by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and appearance while on duty and in public. Supports the Captain in ensuring the crew consistently upholds the corporate and brand image, reporting any inconsistencies to the Captain and the company through established reporting mechanisms.
- Operates all flight duties in alignment with the airline’s commercial objectives, expertly balancing operational efficiency with an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ensures that every decision made during flight operations supports the airline’s mission while maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.
- Stays continuously informed on the latest UAE GCAA and international aviation legislation, operational standards, and industry best practices. Proactively integrates this knowledge to ensure full legal compliance, adherence to procedures, and alignment with evolving industry trends and standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English.
- Minimum 2,500 hours of total flying time.
- Minimum 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight (PIC time is preferable).
- Minimum 1,500 hours of Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA) flying time.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency (Level 4 or above).
- Unrestricted Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate from an ICAO Compliant State.
- ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

Information Security Requirements (ISR)
Individuals are expected to read and comply with the company's ISR policies and diligently report any weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. All required ISR awareness sessions must be completed, and associated guidelines must be followed in day-to-day business operations.
