First Officer - Aviation Opportunity
Role Objective
The First Officer serves as the second-in-command, providing crucial support to the Captain in all facets of aircraft operation. This role involves diligently executing assigned duties, adhering to all instructions, and sharing responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. The First Officer contributes significantly to the safety, security, and well-being of the crew, passengers, cargo, and equipment, while embodying integrity, leadership, and professionalism. Upholding the highest operational standards, this individual makes ethical and decisive decisions in both normal and contingency operations, operating under the Captain's ultimate authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Captain in maintaining ultimate responsibility and accountability for the safe operation of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo. Ensures strict compliance with UAE GCAA and international aviation regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Performs delegated flight duties in full compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards. Fosters professionalism and collaboration among the crew through effective leadership and Crew Resource Management (CRM), upholding the company's commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Executes all assigned duties with precision and professionalism, strictly adhering to Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies to ensure comprehensive compliance and operational integrity. Proposes alternative actions when necessary, guided by sound CRM principles.
- Monitors aircraft systems, performance, and navigation, promptly addressing any irregularities and ensuring unwavering adherence to the flight plan. Identifies, documents, and reports safety incidents, SOP breaches, or operational irregularities, proactively highlighting opportunities for safety and efficiency enhancements. Ensures all reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted through appropriate channels, in full compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to verify the serviceability of emergency systems and flight deck equipment. Shares responsibility for the aircraft, passengers, crew, and operations from initial boarding through to engine shutdown. Oversees critical activities such as fueling and loading, and immediately alerts the Commander to any irregularities.
- Assists the Captain with crew responsibilities from the time of reporting for duty at the Base of Operations in Dubai. Acts in a supporting capacity at outstations and during layovers. Contributes to the safe and efficient management of all aspects of return sector(s) until release following post-flight duties upon return to Dubai.
- Assists the Captain, who as the aircraft Commander holds full accountability and responsibility for all operational decisions and the overall conduct of the flight, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Represents the company as a brand ambassador by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and appearance while on duty and in public. Supports the Captain in ensuring the crew consistently upholds the corporate and brand image, reporting any inconsistencies to the Captain and the company through established reporting mechanisms.
- Operates all flight duties in alignment with the company's commercial objectives, expertly balancing operational efficiency with an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ensures that every decision made during flight operations supports the airline's mission while maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.
- Maintains current knowledge of the latest UAE GCAA and international aviation legislation, operational standards, and industry best practices. Proactively integrates this knowledge to ensure full legal compliance, adherence to procedures, and alignment with evolving industry trends and standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight (Pilot-in-Command time is preferable).
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) or Multi-Engine Turbine (MET) or commercial jet flying time.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency (Level 4 or above).
- Unrestricted Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate issued by an ICAO Compliant State.
- ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

Information Security Requirements (ISR)
Reads and strictly complies with the company's ISR policies. Diligently reports any security weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and diligently follows associated guidelines in day-to-day business operations.
