First Officer

The First Officer serves as the second-in-command of the aircraft, providing crucial support to the Captain during all operational scenarios, both normal and abnormal. This role demands a steadfast commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety. The First Officer is expected to exemplify and uphold the corporate image of Flydubai, acting as a brand ambassador in all professional engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the safe and efficient daily operation of the aircraft as second-in-command.
  • Sets a positive example for all Flydubai crew, contributing to the company's corporate image.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all company policies and procedures by all crew members.
  • Reports any breaches in Standard Operating Procedures or safety protocols to the company or the GCAA through the appropriate channels to facilitate learning and enhance flight safety.
  • Maintains personal fitness for flight duties and promptly notifies the company of any impairment.
  • Operates the aircraft in accordance with approved policies and procedures as established by Flydubai and the GCAA.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of an ICAO ATPL certificate with a valid type rating.
  • A valid 1st Class Medical certificate from an ICAO-recognized authority.
  • English language proficiency at ICAO level 4 or higher.
  • Eligibility for a UAE residency visa.
  • Recent flight experience within the last 24 months.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flying time.
  • At least 1,000 hours of experience on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft exceeding 10 tonnes operating weight (preference will be given to candidates with Pilot-in-Command time).
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours of Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA) time.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ATPL subjects.
  • Exceptional Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proven command ability and experience.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to consistently perform at a high standard, even under pressure.

ISR Requirements:

The First Officer is required to read and comply with the Information Security Requirements (ISR) policies of the company. He/she must diligently report any weaknesses or incidents to the appropriate line manager or the Information Security team, complete all mandatory ISR awareness sessions, and adhere to associated guidelines in daily business operations.
