Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Manager, Flight Operations

Wing, a subsidiary of Alphabet (Google's parent company), is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Manager to join its Flight Operations team in Dallas, Texas. As a PIC Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Wing's commercial drone delivery service.

Responsibilities:

Maintain qualification and regularly function as a Part 135 Pilot-in-Command for Wing's drone delivery service.
Lead and manage a team of 7-9 PICs, fostering professional growth and skill development.
Collaborate closely with the Chief Pilot and Assistant Chief Pilot to ensure PIC availability, readiness, and optimal performance.
Contribute to the readiness and availability of PIC Stations, Operations Rooms, and associated equipment.
Onboard and train new crew members, ensuring seamless integration into the team.
Support public and government outreach initiatives by engaging with stakeholders and promoting Wing's mission.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-6 years of experience in commercial or public Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations, including training in civil UAS operations.
Minimum 1 year of training or operational experience as a flight or ground crew member in crewed aviation.
Minimum 2 years of people management experience, overseeing 5+ direct reports in aviation, transportation, or other safety-critical industries.
Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Class III (or higher) FAA Medical Certificate.
Proven experience using resource management software like Deputy or ServiceNow, with the aptitude to learn new systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace tools (gdocs, gsheets, gchat, etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to interact with public and government officials during facility outreach activities.
Ability to work a rotating 7-day schedule within crew duty time limits, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation:

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $133,000 - $149,500 USD per year, along with a bonus structure, equity participation, and comprehensive benefits. Specific salary details will be discussed during the hiring process.
