Second in Command Pilot Position - Professional Development Program
This position offers an opportunity to serve as Second in Command under an FAA approved Second in Command Professional Development Program, gaining valuable experience in both 14 CFR 91 and 14 CFR 135 operations. The role primarily involves flights within the western United States, with a requirement for both weekend and holiday work. Applicants must reside within or near Burbank, California.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Second in Command under the Professional Development Program.
- Maintain a high level of customer service by responding promptly to customer requests.
- Conduct thorough aircraft inspections for defects and malfunctions per pre-flight checklists.
- Assist the pilot in command with preflight preparations, including load planning, fuel planning, and weight and balance calculations.
- Monitor engine operation, fuel consumption, and the functioning of aircraft systems during flights.
- Monitor gauges, warning devices, and control panels to verify aircraft performance and regulate engine speed.
- Operate controls and pilot airplanes to transport passengers, mail, or freight, adhering to flight plans, regulations, and procedures.
- Conduct post-maintenance check flights.
- Accurately record information such as flight times, distances flown, and fuel consumption in logbooks.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, requiring some weekend and holiday work.
- Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Hold a Commercial Pilot (ASEL) license with an instrument rating.
- Possess a Second-Class Medical Certificate.
- Hold a valid US Passport.
- Prior PC-12 experience is preferred.
- Experience in 14 CFR 135 operations is preferred.
- Availability for weekend and holiday work as assigned.
- Residency within or near Burbank, California.
- Ability to consistently project professionalism in manner and appearance.
- Polished interpersonal and communication skills.
Other Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to obtain an Airport Issued security badge.
- Valid Driver’s license.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Work is primarily conducted outside of an office environment, with moderate noise levels and exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Duties are performed per customer needs, providing twenty-four (24) hour coverage seven (7) days a week.
- FAA flight duty and rest requirements remain controlling for all flight duty operations.
