Responsibilities:

As a Direct Entry Captain, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the renowned WestJet guest experience while upholding the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. You will lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to teamwork.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)
• 2000 hours total time (fixed-wing aircraft)
• 250 hours fixed-wing pilot-in-command time
• 500 flight hours under CARs 705, or equivalent*
• Valid Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating and Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Canadian citizenship or Canadian permanent resident status
• All required visas or travel documents for unrestricted travel
• Clear police background and criminal record check
• Oral and written proficiency in English
• Ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
• Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) obtained prior to Initial Ground School completion

*Equivalent experience to CARs 705 may include, but is not limited to, experience in Part 121 or European Airline operations, heavy military transport/multi-engine aircraft, large corporate PIC experience under CARs 704, high-performance multi-engine aircraft PIC experience under CARs 704, or multi-engine/multi-crew experience in aircraft over 25,000lbs.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience and qualifications that exceed the minimum requirements, such as multi-engine and multi-crew experience, internal WestJet experience, or graduation from a WestJet partner school.
