JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chief Aviation Manager is responsible for management of company flight operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and the highest degree of professionalism and in accordance with all appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations.

  • Direct all aviation functions by establishing policies, procedures and adherence of quality operational standards. Ensure safety compliance with federal, state and company regulations and monitor the Aviation Management Safety Program.
  • Plan and control all aircraft maintenance/inspections to include liaising with the FAA and/or aircraft manufacturers on maintenance topics. Properly document and maintain all records.
  • Provide supervision of flight crew: issuing directives, flight scheduling, and monitor all training/proficiency standards to assure compliance. Process and take action on any incident and/or occurrence reports.
  • Ensure that all aerodromes and routes served are operationally suitable and meet company requirement.
  • Responsible for all duties as Pilot-in-Command, exercising full operational control of company aircraft.
  • Achieve maximum cost efficiencies by managing and negotiating expenses related to aviation operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.

  • Must possess Airline Transport Pilot certification. Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
  • Completion of 3000 hours of flying time. 100 of these hours must have been completed in the last 2 years.
  • Thorough knowledge of aviation operations, FAR, protocol inspection, aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and airport operations.
  • Management, organization, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. Must possess effective leadership skills to guide, direct and achieve high standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficiency.
  • High standards of safety and accountability.
  • Builds collaborative relationships, provides optimal customer service and exercises sound judgment.
