United Therapeutics is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Captain for its Aviation Department. Based in Concord, NH, this full-time, onsite position is essential for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable air transportation for company executives and their guests aboard company aircraft. The Captain assumes full control and responsibility for all aspects of flight operations, acting as the Pilot in Command.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive flight plans, conducting thorough reviews of routes, weather reports, flight restrictions, NOTAMs, and schedules for departures and arrivals.
- Ensure all aircraft systems, on-board safety equipment, and navigation equipment are fully operational and have received approval from qualified technicians.
- Conduct pre-flight checks diligently and brief the cabin crew effectively.
- Serve as Pilot in Command on company aircraft, collaborating seamlessly with other crew members to provide safe and reliable air transportation.
- Accurately track and log all technical issues; complete standard flight documentation as required by the Director of Aviation.
- Perform non-flight duties supporting aviation department operations, including providing assistance as a safety officer and contributing to Flight Operations Manual (FOM) updates to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Undertake other duties as required to support department operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Alternatively, 12+ years of experience as a licensed commercial pilot
- 5+ years of experience as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
- Holds a First Class Medical certificate
- Accumulated 3,000+ hours in flight
- Accumulated 2,000+ flight time as Pilot in Command
- Strong understanding of international aviation rules and regulations
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
- In-depth knowledge of in-flight safety procedures
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Polite and personable demeanor with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Preparedness for emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Gulfstream V (GV) Type Rating
- Gulfstream VII (GVII) Type Rating
- 500+ flight hours in large-cabin aircraft
