Training:

New Flight Attendants will participate in a 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, learning United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a $140/week per diem, accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training. Upon successful completion of training, individuals will be assigned to one of United's hubs or other flight attendant base locations.

Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry.
Must be able to speak clearly and concisely in a manner that is easily heard in an emergency.
Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in a second language is highly desirable.
Must possess the ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate in high-stress situations.
Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
Tattoos are permitted on arms, wrists, legs and feet, but cannot exceed the size of a credit card/employee badge (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or they must be covered with standard uniform pieces. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck, including behind the ear. Offensive tattoos are prohibited.
Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
Must be able to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in the water during training.
Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
Must be able to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal background history.
