United Airlines Flight Attendant

Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and audibly, especially in emergency situations.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding) is essential.
- Fluency in Hebrew (speaking, reading) is required.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards and uniform guidelines.
- Tattoos are permitted on arms, wrists, legs, and feet, provided they are not larger than a credit card/employee badge and are not offensive. Tattoos are prohibited on the head, hands, or neck. Decorative covers, adornments and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining and the ability to travel globally without restrictions.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting heavy objects, and pushing/pulling a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Ability to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule in support of United's 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of an evacuation drill in water (pool) during training.
- Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- Ability to pass a 10-year background check.
Training:
New Flight Attendants will participate in a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, covering United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a $140/week per diem, along with accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training. Upon successful completion of training, individuals will be assigned to one of United's hub locations: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or one of its other Flight Attendant base locations.
