Flight Attendant

- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice, potentially being away from base for extended periods.

- Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service-related industry (retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social services, etc.).
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, in English.
- Fluency in Greek (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Ability to effectively communicate in high-stress situations.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards, uniform guidelines, and tattoo/piercing policies. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck and visible tattoos elsewhere must meet stated size and content requirements.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
- Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United Airlines without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts.
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of an evacuation drill in water during training.
- Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens; adherence to policies regarding medical and recreational marijuana use.
- Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal background history.
Training and Compensation:
United Airlines provides comprehensive training in Houston, TX, covering safety and customer service standards. A weekly per diem, along with accommodations and meals, is provided during training. Upon successful completion of training, Flight Attendants will be assigned to one of United's hub locations or other flight attendant base locations. Base hourly flight pay starts at $28.88, progressing to $67.11 at the top of the base scale. Additional compensation is available for language skills, lead positions, and international trips. A bonus is provided after successfully completing training.
