Flight Attendant

As a Flight Attendant, the individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers while providing exceptional customer service. Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service, etc.).
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and audibly in emergency situations.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Fluency in Italian (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Ability to discern all types and ranges of sound.
- Effective communication skills in high-stress situations, such as evacuations, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, and severe weather.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming, uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not exceed the size of a credit card/employee badge (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or be covered by standard uniform pieces. Tattoos must not be offensive (violent, obscene, sexual, racist, or contain objectionable content or imagery, including weapons).
- Decorative covers, adornments, and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
- Valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (luggage), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal) to operate equipment and doors.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Ability to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) responsibly.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation (weekdays, weekends, holidays).
- Successful completion of a water evacuation drill during training.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens (medical and recreational marijuana prohibited).
- Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history, without travel restrictions.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88/hour, with top of base scale at $67.11/hour.
