United Airlines Flight Attendant

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize passenger safety and security by adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Provide outstanding customer service, demonstrating a "people-first" demeanor and the ability to adapt to diverse customer needs.
- Engage directly with passengers, utilizing strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and compassion to resolve issues and ensure customer loyalty.
- Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism.
- Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, fulfilling reserve assignments on short notice.
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations.
- Serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol, in a responsible and professional manner.
- Proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) for required tasks.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service-related industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social services).
- Must be able to speak clearly and concisely, and be heard in an emergency.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Must be able to read and speak Hebrew fluently.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Ability to effectively communicate in high-stress situations.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards and uniform guidelines.
- Tattoos are permitted on arms, wrists, legs, and feet, as long as they meet specific size and content requirements. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck.
- No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are permitted.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in water during training.
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check.
Training:
New Flight Attendants will participate in a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, covering United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a $140/week per diem, accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88/hour, with top of base scale at $67.11/hour.
- Seniority-based pay increases and additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
