Flexibility is essential, as Flight Attendants must be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. They fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and may be away from their base for extended periods. Dependability and timeliness are critical to maintaining United's schedule and meeting customer expectations. The ideal candidate demonstrates a consistent track record of working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest levels of safety for passengers and crew.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, resolving issues with compassion and grace.
  • Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate in high-stress situations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent; 2 or more years of college preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service, etc.).
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be able to read and speak Hebrew fluently.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely, loudly enough to be heard in an emergency.
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
  • Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards; willingness to adhere to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
  • No tattoos permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not exceed credit card size (3.5" x 2.24") or be covered by uniform pieces. Tattoos must not be offensive.
  • No decorative covers, adornments and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth.
  • Proficiency in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
  • Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months validity remaining.
  • Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
  • Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach.
  • Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule in support of United's 24/7 operation.
  • Successful completion of an evacuation drill in the water (pool) during training.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens; medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited.
  • Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history, without travel restrictions.
